At O'Neal, Everyone SHINES
O'Neal Elementary serves students in grades 1-3 in Poplar Bluff, offering a well-rounded education in a close-knit school community. At O'Neal, we believe every child SHINES (Strive for Excellence, Help One Another, Imagine Possibilities, Never Give Up, and Empower Everyone) — and our staff works every day to make that a reality.
Recognized as a Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase School six years running and ranked among the top elementary schools in Missouri by U.S. News & World Report, O'Neal is committed to ensuring every student feels known, valued, and ready to learn. O'Neal is also the birthplace of the district's St. Jude Math-A-Thon tradition, which began here in 1989 and has since grown into a district-wide effort that has raised over $1.26 million for children's cancer research — a legacy our students are proud to carry forward.
